AB1038 RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANKYLOSIS AND PHYSICAL FUNCTION ASSESSMENT IN ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS

چکیده
Background Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a progressive inflammatory disease affecting the spine and large joints of extremities. Ankylosis sacroiliac affects patients not only physically but also psychologically socially, resulting in significant decline quality life (QOL) disruption daily activities [1]. However, it unclear to what extent progression physical function patient subjective evaluation. Objectives The purpose this study was investigate relationship between degree ankylosis, function, frailty with AS. Methods Twenty-four AS attending our hospital who underwent full computer tomography (CT) assessment were included study. anterior-posterior, intervertebral joint, interspinous process ankylosis sites number (whole spine/cervical spine/thoracic spine/lumbar spine) joint evaluated each vertebra. Patient-objective measures gait speed, grip strength, Timed Up Go test (TUG), time five sit-to-stand, Bath Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI), patient-subjective Functional (BASFI), Kihon Checklist (KCL), 25-question Geriatric Locomotive Function Scale (GLFS-25), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II) as assessments. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient used analyze items. Results mean age (± standard deviation) at 40±15 years, 79% male, 50% HLA-B27 positive, duration 13±9 years. Age significantly correlated thoracic (r=0.449), total spine/sacroiliac (r=0.600/0.553/0.635/0.510). BASMI, an objective assessment, showed (r=0.732/0.653/0.707/0.615), walking TUG, or sit-to-stand. BASFI, spine/ cervical lumbar ankylosis(r=0.680/0.729/0.600/0.469), GLFS-25 (r=0.418/0.500) ankylosis. BDI-II, psychiatric symptoms, KCL, frailty, no Conclusion BASFI GLFS-25, assessments, spinal patients, found interfere life. Reference [1]Braun J, Sieper J. spondylitis. Urolithiasis in ankylosing spondylitis: Correlation with Bath ankylosing spondylitis disease activity index (BASDAI), Bath ankylosing spondylitis functional index (BASFI) and Bath ankylosing spondylitis metrology index (BASMI)
Background: Increased incidence of renal stone has been reported in ankylosing spondylitis (AS), but unlike some well-known renal involvements, they have not been fully studied. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of AS with urolithiasis and also the relation between urinary stone and severity markers. Methods: One hundred-sixty three AS patients were included in a cross-s...
متن کاملSurgical Management of Temporomandibular Joint Ankylosis in Ankylosing Spondylitis
Relatively few patients develop such severe degenerative temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disease that they require total joint replacement. Current indications include those conditions involving condylar bone loss such as degenerative (osteoarthritis) or inflammatory joint disease (ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid, and psoriatic). Ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) secondary to anky...

Values for alkaline phosphatase and gamma glutamyl transpeptidase (GGTP) and the prevalence of their elevation was significantly higher in 35 patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) than in 35 age and sex matched controls. The abnormal enzyme levels appeared to reflect a non-specific reaction to inflammation and could thus aid in assessment of disease status.
متن کاملRelationship between diet and ankylosing spondylitis: a systematic review
The question of whether diet plays a role in the onset of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) or can affect the course of the disease is an important one for many patients and healthcare providers. The aims of this study were to investigate whether: 1) patients with AS report different diets to those without AS; 2) amongst patients with AS, diet is related to severity; 3) persons with particular diets ...
متن کاملRegional lung function in ankylosing spondylitis.
Xenon-133 was used to study regional pulmonary function in nine patients with chest cage rigidity due to ankylosing spondylitis. In comparison with normal subjects, the patients showed an overall diminution in lung volume and the proportion of inhaled xenon reaching the lung apices was reduced but the distribution of injected xenon was normal. The possible relationship between these findings an...
